I’m sitting at my desk, magic cauldron candle lit, blanket draped over my lap and tiny heater running to keep me warm. I sat down to write to you dear reader, when I looked over at my tarot card holder to lay my eyes upon The Dark Solstice Sun card, sitting slightly off-kilter, instead of in a perfect orientation.
Card 1. The Ending-Beginning Archetype. How appropriate, I thought. (My card pulls are always so appropriate.)

At the end of the calendar year, on a New Moon, a Monday (I had to double check), and a Black Moon (the second new moon in a calendar month), the ending-beginning archetype energy is STRONG. Do you feel it too?
My reality is starting to give way to glimpses of what’s on the other side of this beginning (yet, I’ve been sitting with this ending-beginning energy for more than a couple of weeks now); and the other side of this beginning looks ✨DIVINE✨
I’m curious if you feel excited to shift? Or perhaps you’re finding yourself uncomfortable in this space?
Maybe you’re right in that point of true zero, the void, the liminal, right at the “-” of the “ending-beginning”…
In which case, can you savour the singular experience of nothingness?
The way I see it, we have three choices:
- Resist it - which is probably going to be uncomfortable and tiring, but it also might be the “easy” thing to do, because that’s how our brain knows how to experience this liminality
- Allow for it - let it wash over you, remain still and neutral
- Align with it - experience the all, savour it, allow yourself to delight in the nothingness, take pleasure in it
Aligning with the energy sounds the most fun to me, but aligning can be hard. It may not immediately feel true for you to align your desires with what is. But that’s how you can practice aligning.
How would it feel to desire exactly what is? No wishing, wanting, hoping, needing, or having; desiring exactly what is in the present moment and no more.
Can you allow yourself to try?
The energies for today are so supportive of turning inward, introspecting, and engaging in shadow work. And I’m wanting to share a few of my guided meditations, that might feel supportive amidst this, often tender, space of void and liminality (feel free to share them!):

Embodying the Beginner's Mind
Step into the fertile void, where endings cradle beginnings and infinite possibilities emerge. This meditation invites you to shed assumptions and embrace the black moon energy of the beginner's mind—a space of curiosity, openness, and transformation. Explore the potent magic of starting anew, guided by your breath and an unwavering connection to the present moment.

Embracing Change Meditation
Change is the alchemy of endings and beginnings, a dance within the void where the black moon's wisdom thrives. This meditation supports you in releasing resistance, finding stillness within the flux, and embracing the energy of becoming. Through this practice, surrender to the cycles of life and uncover the profound power of the unknown.
Oh, and if you want to really dive in to this energy, check out my latest Substack: Life is Meaningless; I promise it’s not as depressing as it sounds.
Sending love and blessings for the upcoming transition,
